I love the low flanges on my Fulcrum Racing 1 road wheels, I love the high flanges on my Phil Woods. I really just think that the sex is picking parts that compliment the bike you are creating, for me classic track frames really look the bomb with high flanges.
As for the science, I'm not sure it makes a big difference. Stuff about stiffness, torque, lateral strength, aerodynamics, weight... I'm not going to really notice.
Go for what you feel looks better and smile.

I have some they are really really pretty...:)
If I can't find a nice pair of Campy hubs for the new bike
I am going to get some SLR's
-
• #21
i now have a spare campy record rear and front hub high flange rear low flange front i think i'll be selling so if anyone wants some flange let me know
not NOS but running smooth and slightly pitted should make a good set of polo wheels
and
i think high flange looks the nuts seperates a ordinary looking wheel from an interesting wheel

Low flanges are lighter...

its all about the high flanges with the cut out bits
right now I am sporting a nice pair of HiFlange polished Phil's and they look 'nice' against my black frame
but have high flanged hubs had there day...?
I keep looking at low flanged hubs thinking they look sweet
So what do you say..?
