I love the fact that most people would want to be as close as possible from the center, with good public transport.. and cyclists look for far-flung places to live..
I had the same though recently - my commute is going to go from 1.5 minutes to 29 minutes - and I was kinda happy about it.

I have a room in our rented 3 bedroom flat coming up in a month. Could be sooner as my current flatmate has given a months notice but is keen to move into his new place. It's very close to Victoria Park. 25 mins into town! Down Hackney Rd, Old St, Holborn etc. Straight line all the way! And room for bikes. Email me: and_todd@yahoo.co.uk

Hi everyone, there will be a room going at the end of the month (june) in the fixedgearlondon house in brockley... it's a good house to live in, benefits include trampolene, backyard miniramp, bike workshop, lots of space for bikes... I could go on but, I won't. We ideally would like to have a girl move in to make it a 50/50 house. But we could be swayed... the rent is 300 a month, not including bills. 15 mins from central if there is no traffic, and about 10 if there is a shit load. If anyone knows anyone who might be interested, let me know.

That's what I thought. I'm trying to find someone cool and non-psycho to flat-share with a friend in Ealing who has a room going, there's no way that it's as cheap as the fixed gear London flat in Brockley.

Man that sound like the type of house I have always dreamed of. Dam the gardenless flat I am moving to.

Another room up for grabs in our Holloway abode. Plenty of bike space (plus workshop space). From September. Preferably Student (to avoid evil council tax). Email asap (saskia at riseup.net) for more details. I am touring at the moment, destination Ukraine, so sporadic internet, but should be back end of August, so thought I'd put it up here first.
The contract on the hole in the wall where I live ends on the 18th of next month, and I figured that since I am going to start looking at the possibility of living with strangers, I would rather live with strangers I know, or who ride bikes.
Ideally, I would like to remain a good half hour to Central London because I like my bike commute. I would open an exception for Islington. I am now in Willesden Green (it is ok). I don't smoke, am home very little (work and biking make me basically use my flat to sleep). I do expect family or friends to come visit from the US or Brazil, so I would hope that that would not be a problem.
Budget is flexible, but not endless. Cheaper is better, of course, inside space for bikes is a must, as I would prefer not to leave my baby outside.
