  • Anyone up for it then?

Bored today, so probably going to go up to The Chandos to meet some mates and drink the evening away. But tomorrow, no plans, so would be good to get some riding in. The Old Mill seems like as good a destination as any, is anyone going to be down there?

  • It's a plan.

  • If i can get this proposal finished tomorrow, i'd be up for going. what time were you thinking?

  • You know, I have no idea. Are there weird opening hours for a bank holiday Sunday?

It wouldn't be too early anyway.

Does 3pm sound good for everyone?

  • People ! Do I have to remind you that there is a live broadcast of the Tour of Flanders starting at 12pm tomorrow. Not to be missed, maybe you should look for a pub where you can catch the finish.

  • I might be able to sneak out for that one, let me know what time mobile is
O seven, seven, one, one, eight double two, four double five
    text me with a time.
    Cheers
    Steve

  • I'm down for this

velocity boy and anyone else going to be traveling in from west london, fancy meetin up and riding down together?

  • Yeah, when and where? And did you see dexter's post about photoshootin'? Do we know the route to Plumstead yet? Can it take in Brick Lane?

  • How about meet at Brick lane around 2, and ride to Plumstead? The bonus would be that I know where Brick lane is, and knowing where things are makes me feel all grown up.

  • Sounds good to me.

I've got your phone number, you have mine... I'll call damnham and beatz now.

  • Apparently I won't give damnham a call... the number he whispered is missing a digit.

Ah well, if you're reading this damnham or beatz, give me a call:
oh seven seven four oh nine four nine two one two

  • Gutted!
would have been SO up for today but have spent most of the day in hospitals. Have to have minor reconstructive surgery tomorrow on my index finger after stupidly mashing it in between my chain and rear cog.

    Lesson learned!

considering changing my username to slamm after also getting hit by a 60 year old Romanian in a beat up Vauxhall on Friday night! :-P

  • shit man!
in the wars, you got hit? is the bike ok?

hope the finger heals up good.

I missed today as I've got a fucking cold. not best pleased about that.

wait. you got your finger mashed AND got hit on friday? that's crazy!

hope you're alright, but since you were typing, i guess it could have been much worse. all the best tomorrow.

  • thanks man, yeah bike is fine. The old guy decided last second to take a right turn at a mini roundabout by Fulham Broadway. I could nothing but slam into his car and flip over his bonnet. Funny thing was he was sort of stoked that I was riding fixed. "I ride fix when I am young" he said to me before telling me "You good cyclist, you fall good!"

Was just reading the Fixed Gear Injury thread on BF, luckily I'm not losing the finger like some poor guy that was mentioned. shivers

  • An excellent pub, Andy the landlord is bike friendly and always drags out his old Dawes to show off, good to meet Dave, Alex and Damnham.

being local and early I had a two pint head start but with beer that good who cares :)

That Bob Jackson is great Dave, very bling :)

thanks Hovis, the finger in question isn't touching the keys at the moment :-P

  • I'm glad you chose Slamm and not 'Damage'. Damage is my 'other' nickname.
    Hope you heal up quick!

Finally watched this, only a day late but hey that's what Sky+ is for.

Turned out to be one hell of a race.

Looking forward to watching the Paris-Roubaix next weekend :) Are there any pubs that just put Eurosport on, or is it all just football? It's nicer to watch cycling from a beer garden.

  • The DoY usually shows the tour doesnt it?

  • But don't they only have that really small telly in the corner, and the one above the doorway to the left? Those are miniature.

Decent screens are what we need... and tour? That's far away, Paris > Roubaix next weekend, the Sunday in Hell. It's going to be great, it always is.

I wish I had a garden, I could put the telly outside, light a bar-b-q and still have parking space for a few guys to come over and watch the race unfold. Living in a flat sucks.

Dude, I don't even have a TV and I live in a studio. Tell me about it!
'course, if you do get the tv outside and the barby fired up then it's only right that an Aussie should attend. I'll expect an invite in the post then shall I? ;)

  • Dam I go away for a week and all you guys come out to play in my mannor dag namit!
