Ripley- this weekend

  • i think Ripley bike jumble is this coming saturday, usual meet is around half 7 at waterloo and train tickets around £9 return.

  • It is, I noticed that buffalo bill is doing a more sober run down there this time, but still the prediction is for all the messengers to get there dazed and confused at the crack of dawn on the hunt for parts.

I can't make it... I'm off to see a guy named Ben Serotta show off some new bikes. That and I'm fairly sure I won't be out of bed by the time you're on the train.

  • Is anyone else going to this - if so, how you getting there (train and ride, or just ride ) & when / where y'all meeting? Bill's sober run for sensible old farts sounds up my street ;)

    mickster

  • Mickster - most folks catch the train from Waterloo to Redhill?!? and then its about 1/2 an hour ride from there to Ripley. (See Salmon Childs first post). Last year you could get group buy tickets for the train, which really helped keep the cost down.

Buffalo Bill's post on Ripley is here.
Should be fairly easy to spot whose going, as you don't often get large groups of fixie riders in Waterloo Station at that time of day.

Ripley Jumble is always great even if you just want to look rather than buy. Can't go. Saving myself for Good Friday @ Herne Hill as I'm skint.

  • couldnt make the one just gone. anyone know when the next one is?

  • Read a reminder about Ripley Jumble on another thread - is it 7th OR 14th of this month? Train + ride?
Roberto -will you be there? And who else is going down? I can't remember what I actually need at the minute but I'm sure it'll come back to me. err.. cranks? Hubs?

  • is this definetly on the 14th? I've never been and interested in going (i;m in that neck of the woods next sunday anyway). i searched on the web and came across the Woking Cycle Users’ Group website and at the bottom it had a box simply stating that Ripley Section Veteran Cycle Club Jumble is on a saturday in october. 14th is a sunday. it gives the following contact detail: John Lattimore 01932 247614. work is so hectic i haven;t even have time for a proper lunch recently so not been able to contact the guy at a reasonable time. i'll try and make time tomorrow and give an update - unless someone beets me to it.
