  • What's he done now?

  • Nothing specific. Regrettably he lives to report another story which we already know about.

  • Andrew Benson should be skinned alive and buggered.

You should invite him to your part of the world... I'm sure that's like a sport where you are?

  • What's he done now?

Well there is this particularly lazy piece of journalism that he published on the BBC website yesterday.

  • Just came here to post about that. How many times can one pillock use the word "underlines" in a handful of paragraphs?

    What a Grade-A arsehole.

I've not seen it televised here, but I imagine it's probably regarded as the "sport of kings" here. I am not prepared to research it for you - you'll have to start your own lines of enquiry if you're really interested.

    What a Grade-A arsehole.

If he's widely acknowledged as being so shite, why do the BBC keep him around?

  • The idea of an adjusted league table for top end motor racing cars and drivers is not an original one. Very detailed work done by Pomeroy pre war and Jenks post. Benson wouldn't be worthy of emptying their pencil sharpeners..

  • Well there is this particularly lazy piece of journalism that he published on the BBC website yesterday.

It's certainly the laziest bit of Photoshop...

  • Getting back to non-Benson discussion - there's talk of Lewis and Jenson having title chances. Well as much as I'm a Lewis fan, I don't see how Rosberg can be discounted. If reliability is equal, then I see Nico being very strong. Silly to ignore really.

But the real joy for me will be the race within Ferrari. That will be titanic.

  • Just seen who's driving for Ferrari. Should be interesting.

  • I believe there is a whole thread just for memes. Their value within intelligent discussions is therefore sadly diminished.

  • If Massa and Williams show Ferrari a clean pair of heels, Alonso may become very irked.

  • Serious thread is serious. Fair enough.
Regarding Ferrari though, putting two of the biggest egos in the sport together in the same team could work out to be either genius or a total disaster.
Of course, that assumes their car is actually any good.

  • Don't pander. Post what you want.

    Where's my ignore button?

EDIT: found it... ahhhhhhhhhh. Now I can watch the broom-brooms in peace.

  • I don't have Sky, but would like to watch the first race of the season, is anywhere showing it?

I used to watch it in a mates pub on the big-screen (at 4 in the morning) but he's moved oop North to have babies.

  • You're welcome to pop over to mine...

  • Might be worth looking for a feed on the Navi-X plugin if you have XBMC, That's my plan.

I agree with all of this.

The sun must be getting to me.

  • I'm looking forward to an interesting season. I'm also looking forward to Kimi punching Alonso at some point for the lolz.

  • Yes, that could be quite an interesting relationship.

Who is primary driver at Ferarri?

  • Both of them.

  • I think these practice sessions will be the most important in the last few decades - to the teams, and to the fans. I expect the race to only confirm what we learn from the free practices.

Qualifying will be truly special too, as know one knows yet who's really fast, and is anybody sandbagging - McLaren?

    Any predictions, pre-practise and pre-qualies?

Is the silly money going on Massa for the win?

  • Both of them.

I am waiting for the usual Ferrari explanation.

So what happened in today's race?

    We had a wheel problem.

Oh - it looked like your drivers crashed into each other on the first corner on the TV?

Yes and then Kimi spun and hit the wall. Alonso went straight on and looked good until he beached in the gravel. His wheels were spinning but the car wasn't moving while Kimi's wheels came of his car which was moving without its wheels so our initial diagnosis is we have a wheel problem.

  • I'm actually getting genuinely excited about this season.
