  • To wade in on the clue debate, 'cos I'm sure you were all waiting for my input, I am going to get off the fence, lay my cards on the table, stand up and declare that I am very strongly ambivalent about them.

    There is no reason give every tag away too easily, otherwise the game is just a race to see who finishes work/pulls a sickie first. If the place is a major London landmark or tourist attraction we can expect most people to get it without a clue, if it is more obscure then a little clue, perhaps alluding to the history of the place, is nice.

    I get the impression that the clues mostly police themselves as people who know the tag but can't get there wade in with cluelets as much to show they know as to help out others, I see nothing wrong in that. Sometimes the clues are as distracting as they are helpful and sometimes you will just have to concede that you will not get a tag, clue or no, but don't worry, if you just hang around there will be another one along soon.
