Is this a frame with internal cable routing?
-

I thought so originally but no, it has a threaded hole for a cable guide on the bb and external brake cable guides etc but just the holes instead of bosses on the downtube.

Weird. Maybe you can fit some clamp-on cable guides over the top of the holes?

^might be difficult if it's an oversized tube. Is it steel or alu?

Didn't you see this before you bought it? Try problem solvers they may have something. I think SJS cycles stock their stuff

Don't ride it without covering them or you may get water/salt etc in there and get internal corrosion

You probably need screw in shifter bosses, you can probably find them from a frame building parts supplier like Ceeway but otherwise it's something similar to this that you would be looking at getting - http://www.loosescrews.com/Products/shimano-bolt-on-downtube-shift-lever-bosses.html
[edit] cheaper ones here - http://www.cycle-frames.com/bicycle-frame-tubing/NOVA-LEVER-BOSS-KIT-FOR-AL-FRAME.html

^repped for exquisite knowledge. I never knew those existed!

I only know 'cos I've an old aluminium frame with a similar set, and only then because I saw the previous owner had had them taken off at a time when he was riding it single-speed.

yeah nice one tychom, that's mega knowledge. Had a more in depth search and found this:

thanks for the help guys, I've emailed planet x on the off chance but looks like this is my only option.
Bought a sab frame on ebay. There are holes in the downtube where the cable guide mounts would usually be, anyone know how I'd go about fitting guides or mounts? I really am stumped.
