Coffee Appreciation

I was working outside yesterday after turning my Gaggia Factory 105 on.

Me Julie reports the following:

• Boiler made standard heating up noises
  
• Sound of steam emerging
  -Went over to check- pressure needle "all the way round" the dial"
  
• Steam venting from the emergency pressure release
  
• She turned it off
  
  

And now the heating element doesn't turn on.

Has anyone had this happen before?

I'll take it apart later, just wondered if this was a known failure mode.
