^^ This. Both for the clue bit and the fatwa against BorisBall. I often but not always do clues. I don't always give the clue immediately. Some people will recognise a tag immediately and race off to get it no matter what you do. Sometimes we see several tags bagged in one day. If you get or don't get a particular one, does that matter? The thread is enjoyable even when you're not actively tagging.
I think nearly as many people here are irritated by clues (either by the whole principle or the ones that some people give) as like them.
