City riding lights - flash or steady?

Flashing make it easier to differ cyclists from motorists, as for it being easier to tell the speed, I'm somewhat doubtful about that.

I also sometimes use two steady lights on the front and if they are suitably bright oncoming traffic thinks you are a motorbike, especially usefully on poorly lit rural or urban streets.

Always, motorists actually become more patients when you have a light as powerful as a motorised vehicles due to thinking we're a motorcyclist.
