Great thanks - everything I hoped for really. I love my position on it, the ergonovas - so comfy - and the wider rims, which really do inspire confidence down hills, round corners etc.
There's a mudguard I think you will like called the PDW Full Metal Fenders, it got proper coverage, especially at the rear and the front to keep the victim's dry and your feet/drivetrain free of murk
Yep, you were right Ed, I liked them so much I fitted a pair! Unfortunately proper guards wouldn't fit under the TRP R960s, so I picked up a pair of TRP R920s instead:
To be honest I think I prefer the look of them to the original brakes, the curvyness works well.
How wide are the tires with the race blade longs, as I am thinking of getting them but have been told max width is 23mm
I think they are the equivalent of 25mm, although Scoble posted up a picture somewhere of someone with some calipers and I think they were more like 26mm. They fitted fine under the race blades either way.
That's a bit late now, sorry.
How are you finding the Hope's now you've put some miles into them?
Considering getting some for one of my projects.
Lovely lovely bike btw.
Thanks. Still good, still nice and clicky. Haven't needed any attention yet, although I only did 2000 miles on the bike last year, which was less than I'd hoped.
That didn't stop the chain wearing out though. Have replaced it with a gold one, mostly because it was cheap on eBay.
So those who were arguing for gold in the great chain colour debate, I guess you win.
And with hindsight yes, I think maybe a bit too much red. I may still swap out the quick releases and seat clamp for black ones, that wouldn't cost much if I sell on the old bits...
I forgot all about this thread, sorry.
