So, better pics of what turned up last night:
Bit of a parts mix, stronglight/spidel, simplex, maillard, look, gipiemme, philippe, modolo, campagnolo. Not too sure what to do with it just yet, classic era french or italian? something more modern - 8 or 10 speed?
Most likely I'll leave it as is for now and give it some good thought, From the classic era I think full Campagnolo would be a bit samey, high end french a little more interesting, or less-seen Italian could be interesting too (Ofmega Mistral?). I like the 8 speed Shimano groups (740X/640X) but they could look a bit out of place here.
