Also, I reckon pink fizik tape would look great...

There's no flattering angle for those bars...
None whatsoever - you can see they're ugly from a 1/4 mile.

Yeah, I was thinking that although the LSF decals and the Spesh ones are already different shades of pink - I'm not sure I could manage three different. I'll have a look at what it looks like in real life first.
For now, I'll probably get the cheapest black tape possible as it'll be coming off shortly.

I often re-use fizik tape, (not the soft touch) just need some double sided tape for re-application.
Found a better shot of the bars....

Long reach is loooong.

Yup. Sorted with a shorter stem and an inline seat-post. However, it was a very comfortable bike to ride, especially on the drops. It's seen more than a few centuries so if I don't get on with the new position, I'll change it back.
I'm more concerned about fat belly being fat - it looks like I'll need to go on TM's lime & soda diet with some remedial fitness training!

Well, that's the bar tape on. I've gone for plain black (Pro-Logo) tape so as not to draw too much attention to the bars until they're changed.
Tomorrow might be test ride and decide on wheels day.

It look awesome, have you thought about getting a short reach compact drop or do you prefer the anatomic shape of those bar you have on at the moment?
Compact drop can shorten the reach by 20-25mm easily.

I'll be getting a set of compact drops shortly - they're on the list of upgrades.

Glad I've found this thread, literally started on a 2006 langster myself yesterday, will be doing it much more gradually though, definitely no respray in the lounge!
Agree with you on the forks, never had a front heavy bike before!
Here's mine a day onCame with big risers on that I also think have added to the front end. I take the blame for the white tires, they needed something on desperately as the sides had split on the ones it had come with. Few more bits coming this week, new stem and trying to find some bars, xt levers for nostalgia!
