Rescue dogs

How can I rescue a dog from Croatia? Their website is a nightmare?
Can they be brought/send to the UK?

This how I understand it:

• The dogs are in a Croatian public pound with 60 days to go
  
• During that time they can be adopted
  
• AAfA have rescue shelters (or links with them) in Croatia
  
• If you choose a dog they will do a home visit and put a hold on the dog's status
  
• Then one of their volunteers in Croatia brings them over here
