  • Still needs some work before it will qualify for porn I think! Are you going to be riding it without hoods on the bars?

I wasn't exactly aiming for porn, just to not have to catch the train on Monday.

Undecided about the bars - this is my first time with drops, so I'll be getting a feel for them this week but yeah, I'll probably be adding hoods and tape at some point.

  • I've just been putting this one together, it needs a front brake, smaller chainring, and different stem... but I'm pleased so far!

tan walled tires and black grips plz

  • I've some family in the mountains of southern spain where it's a mix of dusty trails and beautiful new EU-funded slaloms, all fun stuff if you've got a bike there. So this is that bike, put together on the cheap for that one week per year. Hopefully solid and maintenance free. I've set it to be able to get around the hills and a fair few of the trails and generally explore a bit.

The frame is from Spinella Cicli of Italy, I believe it's actually a Daccordi as I've seen a number the same or similar. The frame is a bit rough around the edges, Columbus SLX, so far it's a really nice ride. Will get it to play around with it more in the early summer, and take better photos too.

  • ^ Porny

  • Is that a Visp?

    Gorgeous! Maybe black quill?

Cheers guys. Yeah its a VISP... well happy with how its turned out. And really surprised how good the fabrication is on the VISP. Expected rubbish welds etc, but its far superior to alot of tigged steel frames you see, Charge, Genesis etc...

  • OMFG my bike is dead, quick build a new one. 48h later I ended up with

Note that this was before adjusting things for comfort (also no air in the tyres in the pic).

Rep to roboto for the frame which still bears his name.

Do I now qualify properly for WNKR?

    better remove that #nltcbmbc sticker

I was expecting some kind of old school MTB when I read this before scrolling down. When you say trails, what exactly do you mean? Presumably just gravelly bike paths as opposed to downhill through forest type stuff?

The frame is beautiful, and for a cheap build that looks great.

    agreed

    SLX mon amour ! <"

  • Is that head badge engraved?

  • Cross Check is just about done for now though I'm thinking about a low-trail fork and a lightweight rear rack for spring/summer overnight adventures.

  • Spinella frame looks lovely to me, one mans trash...

  • thought had crimped tubing at first like a spiral conic

  • just finished putting this together new saddle and seatpost on the way to me i still dont know what headset to use stronglight or miche :-?? Also I have a dura ace track crank on octalink but i dont know it is worth the effort to install.

  • Stronglight and it's definitely worth the effort!

  • I might be interested in the DA crank if you decide not to use it.

  • Thinking about getting a new saddle and maybe another chainring. Any suggestions?
I use this bike daily and it's parked around 6-8hours so I don't want to spend big money.

  • While I am getting the new wheels for the dave together I have been riding the langster a lot more, and with risers is awesome fun on and off road.

  • Maybe an old flite that's a little tatty?

That frame is absolutely lovely! Much prefer it to the carbon road frame.

  • @TM the carbon gash got stolen :( it was 5,14 kg fully equipped. Will let you know if I decide to sellz the DA

  • Ah shit! From home or out? Never nice to lose a bike. Lucky the disc wasn't on it!

Yeah mainly un-named roads, gravelly, occasional rock fall, some villages that are roughly concreted

I'm thinking in the future if I find myself cut off from other interesting spots by real offroad areas i'll take down an MTB too.

    Is that head badge engraved?

Yeah the headtube is engraved. The photos aren't great but it's very well put together, the classic Cinelli BB, lots of panto, the paint is metallic lilac and pearlescent creme, with a Somec-ish pattern.

Certainly well used, chips, scratches, but I like that - I worry whenever something is in too good condition. The BB and headset were dead when it came to me and it certainly seems to have been well used. Very happy with it all in all.

    Also, late at night but:

a blue Faggin Cromovelato just arrived at my door :)

  • Yeah it happened just outside a CO OP with CCTV and police wont do anything to bust that thief. also they wont give me the footage which sucks
