Have you got a route plan at all gaz? This looks like the kind of cycling holiday I could persuade the gf onto.. (flat, nice weather, quiet)

You don't particularly need a detailed plan in the Netherlands as they keep you on the cycle-paths so you just have to follow the signs and trust that the local teenagers haven't turned them to face the wrong way.
We did an art-history trip: Harwich > Hook of Holland > Amsterdam (Rijksmuseum, etc) > Hague (Mauritshuis) > Delft (Vermeer stuff) > Rotterdam (gabber gabber!) > Antwerp > Ghent (Lamgods) > Zeeland > Hook of Holland > Home. The Dutch and Belgians aren't as good as the French for campsites and food, but there are literally NO Hills anywhere.

Thanks for the breakdown, Dutch cycling sounds perfect for the gf.

I know this bridge, this is 15 minutes along the road (maybe more like 5, we were lost)
Lovely track which they let us play on, made the 2 or 3 hours spent lost trying to get out of Nantes/across the water worth it.

That looks grand! I had a feeling you'd been around that area.
Here's some nice shots of the Tour going over the bridge: -

Nice.
I live With all those amazing Norwegian roads within an hour or so's drive. But I still miss a good English country lane. Underrated.

Agreed. I was in Kingston yesterday on the 8th floor of a building looking out the window to the West where you can see the start of the Green Belt/end of London, and had a bit of a Proustian moment, transplanted onto those roads making my way to Devon.

Shit myself coming down this. Doing 40+ with front panniers and a massive cross wind. Cars screaming by at 60+ less than an elbow away.
Great view though!!

Happened upon a fine English country lane at the weekend. didn't stop to take a picture but I did stop to enjoy the view of Chatsworth House. Strava can wait for another day.

iltmimi, do you know what the name of that road is?
I get this feeling I've been there before.

South island NZ has as many mountains as the alps. They just need more tarmac.

Ah used to drive to work down a road like this, wish I could cycle it but alas it was a 40 minute drive to work, so not entirely doable on a bike everyday there and back :(
