• Further Little price drop

Phil Wood 108mm JIS Bottom bracket with English cups. ...The bearings are in great condition and spin super smooth. I have installed it but not used it three times on my trainer. I changed my plans..included in the price is the installation tool.

If you are looking for a BB with a 107mm spindle...108mm will be only 0.5mm out....but this will be a high quality BB....not a cheap Shimano UN55 or Stronglight BB!

If you check here...http://www.lfgss.com/thread122841.html....you will see the profile of the taper on my BB is definitely JIS and not ISO.

    Price is £55 posted

  • Little price drop....Price is £56 posted

  • bargain. tool and cups alone cost near the asking price.

  • Stupid question time: this would work for a 109mm too if it would work for a 107mm?

And it would work with 75s right, cos they are JIS?

  • 75s are ISO

To quote George Washington....'i cannot tell a lie'....ok i can...but not here and not to you Mr Fox!

I used the BB for a couple of weeks [mainly on a trainer] with a set of S75s....and did not notice any problems....width is fine....0.5mm out....and no problems....no slippage BUT S75s use ISO tapers....don't know why.....you are more than welcome to it...but them are the facts....as far as i am aware....let me know.

  • Damn, yes, so they are.

75s Y U ISO when you are Japanese?!

I have read of people using Phil BB's with 75s on the internet just now. Hmm.

    (Out then, sadly).

    I thought you might be....bugger!

  • Well let me check - can you hold it for half an hour for me please?

Ok so I have an ISO BB at the moment and it is fine! Dibs please :)

Oh crap, no it's JIS not ISO. Ignore me. Sorry.

  • The great thing about Phil BB's is you can adjust them by up to 5mm thanks to the seperate cups. Fitting an ISO taper on a JIS spindle will leave it about 4.5mm out of place which could balance the whole "75's on JIS" matter out

is that a cconvoluted way of saying you will be buying the BB?

  • A verbose way of nudging Fox that it might still work for him (as it did for you). I've picked up an ISO one now. Happy days

  • A further price drop.....£55 posted

  • Bottom bracket of dreams right there, if I weren't so poor I would buy it.

Good luck with the sale Leon!

Just a thought, if anyone is wondering what beautiful track cranks they could run with this BB, I have a pair of Sugino Grand Mighty's that would fit the BBill.

  • I'm interested in taking this, have PM'd.
