Good morning,
Is it a Road Ace or Record Ace?
-
• #13
Record - title is wrong.
Record is more sports tourer than racing bike (road ace
) -
• #14
Thanks, I was confused (nothing unusual in that!)

Have you still got the raleigh?

And the carlton?
-
• #17
ah you don't want other frames or money...mmm not sure what I can give you then for the Carlton.
Got some phones? Tablet (Nexus 7)? what do you need?I got a non-531 Carlton and love it, but would love a 531 too.

it seems unlikely i'll both shift these and avoid handling money at the same time, so i'll relent and attach some arbitrary numbers,
but - apologies - i am going to have to draw the line at dealing with any delivery services... cash and pickup is preferable.
carlton - 60
rra - 69
witcomb - 89 (apparently less than it cost paint)
scott - 149more pics http://s1260.photobucket.com/user/yellowsweep/library/ later - frame numbers and such are on there
trades are still good, but only really if they reduce my expected expenditure anyway, these are all going as part of a clearout, more bikes (and bits) in their place is not ideal.
yes the record ace frame was the same for a few years as the classic 12 and classic 15 . - different finish and parts, same frame.

http://bulgier.net/pics/bike/Catalogs/Raleigh84/ral84_12.jpgthis is my own classic 12/15 - repainted - but shows exactly how the RRA will build up :

still have an RRA in 25" to suit 6' or more - 50 gbp: see the pic of that on the photobucket link (with black chainstays )

there's two raleigh's going now, so let me know which one is dibbed (though i'd rather sell to anyone who comes first)
the larger one has black on the stays and bridge just to cover paint chips - to keep frame from the elements. and the post is not seized - in fact i'm not sure where it is now.
just reminded me , i have one more frame here. i had it here on another thread but 'll just tack it on here to see if i can shift before i'm biting the bullet and ebaying- last chance 39gbp .
it's apparently a 753 'columbia' - (though it looks very like a high end raleigh) , the lugs on forks say dawes so these may not be original , - this was to be a racer for me until i got given a newer scandium / carbon frame . 58cm , good 600 headset and a good BB

c. 7 days
trade for whatever............. make me an offer. I don't need any more bikes or money (sorry - a change to this - prices are below now) - t**hey are all in sk6, i'm not able to post right now, so it would be cash / trade on collection **
raleigh and whitcomb are 23 1/2" seat and c. 57cm on top
carlton is 23 1/2" seat and c. 56cm on top
all take 27.2 post and are nominally 126 OLD
the carlton WG9003038 (WG9003039?) is made by raleigh in worksop 1979 (i'm 99% sure it's the same frame as the raleigh competition GS - not to be confused with the lesser gaspipe carlton and raleigh clubmans - and pretty rare - i can't find a pic or mention of another.- it shares a lot in common also with the earlier 80s RRA (the cut lugs and non-scalloped stay tops version) frames ) see spec here

http://sheldonbrown.com/retroraleighs/competition.html
possibly nearer the 79 version actually :
http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_yP_NfibByys/TTyttJ_cryI/AAAAAAAACMA/REHUmpxMLNI/s1600/100_0901.JPG
the raleigh is a little longer wheelbase and c. 1984 - worksop again. it's 531c all through - (although i really think these were stickered 531c for a year or two but still made of db)
the whitcomb is 531 db and the same sort of club geo as the others - odd mark in paint, but recent renovation (pretty sure this has had the shifter bosses added on during renovation) and also fairly sure the forks are not original - they fit well, but are not as high quality as the frame - probably just cromo
*scott frame - just tagged on to this listing really :
58cm to top c. 54 to center
c. 56/57 on top
342g fork
970g frame *
