I've always held the line that the forum forgives anything so long as the person who did whatever is going to be forgiven sincerely and genuinely apologises or acknowledges their own action.

At no part in JSSR emailing me and the back and forth about it did I even mention or imply that an apology would do anything at all, and I thought we were going to enter into a game of cat and mouse where I expend little effort splatting his aliases whilst he expends a ton of effort trying to not get caught.

But then, out of nowhere, a sincere apology and acknowledgement he'd acted like a jerk.

I accepted his apology, and said that he should go and remove the homophobic references but in general, welcome back.

It's consistent with what I've done in the past, but sometimes I've had to say "Look, just apologising, acknowledge your actions and don't do it again", and this time I didn't and so I believe it.

That I agree with, and considering I asked him to edit I'll give it until tomorrow afternoon to see whether he's dealt with it.

Not only did JSSR never edit his "youre gay" post, but he's also gone and made further tasteless jokes along the homophobic line "after your rear... ayy".

So I've banned./
