  • What's everyones favourite place in Brighton to get off the bike and take it in for a while?

I only moved here recently so I get the distinct impression there's a lot I don't know about, other than around the race course and the hills out by Roedean school

Some without mental hills would also be nice, as my housemates refuse to ever come find a 'zen' place with me as I normally like to climb

  • this spot is pretty crazy, a lot of people dont know its there but its this huge valley and a long dead village. https://maps.google.co.uk/maps?q=bn2&hl=en&ll=50.823729,-0.046724&spn=0.00551,0.013937&sll=4.535277,114.727669&sspn=1.112971,1.783905&t=h&hnear=BN2,+United+Kingdom&z=17

its a fair old climb too, keep riding and you get to kingston quite quickly. theres a pub at the end as well. best suited to a mountain bike though as its mostly off road

  • I guess the obvious ones are Devils Dyke (views over the sea and also inland) and top of Ditchling beacon. I seem to remember top of bear road being nice, views over the city I think but haven't been up there for a while.

Always good on Bonfire Night. Especially as you can see the Hove Cricket Ground display from there.

  • Climbed Devil's Dyke today for the first time. Was a glorious view but really really cloudy up there, so felt a bit dark & cold compared to sunny town

It's a great view if you go all the way to the pub or if you stop at the golf course and turn around!

  • Dyke -> Ditchling Beacon -> Black Top

    Classic route
