Not taking a mandolin or a friggin' steinberg stick! Guess I should have been clearer. Looking at affordable travel sized acoustic guitars. Cheaper than baby Taylors and less stick-esque than the hideous Martin backpacker. I will continue the research.
^^I used to have a boss EQ pedal, GE7 (or possibly earlier variant) I used to roll off some low end for playing a high register melody on bass during a song's intro. Was very handy.
If Boss make it, you can bet Digitech do one for half the price and Behringer do one in plastic for £15.
