  • Our Club is putting on a road crit race this May on the same day as BTR and the village trust do the 10k running race.

Please read below if your interested and fancy a day out visiting the very picturesque village. There will be catering on the day plus the local pubs doing food as well.

ENTRIES have opened for the first ever cycling road race in the historic Wirral village of Port Sunlight.

Port Sunlight Wheelers have accepted an invitation to organise a series of youth races around a closed circuit within the village.

Sanctioned by British Cycling, the sport’s governing body, the races will take place from 1pm on Sunday, May 11, 2014.

The mile-long circuit will start and finish in front of the famous Lady Lever Art Gallery and will be completely enclosed by barriers to guarantee traffic-free racing along the wide, well-surfaced route.

Race officials are planning to recreate the atmosphere of a European criterium or kermesse and hope the compact, enclosed circuit around the picturesque village will prove attractive to riders and spectators.

Entry is just £5 across all five youth categories (A, B, C, D, E) and cheques made payable to “Port Sunlight Wheelers” can be sent to organiser Mike Wright at:
Flat 12, The Cresson, 43 Bidston Road, Prenton. CH436UJ.

Further details are also available by emailing mike.wright26@talktalk.net or by calling 07747 348135.

Entry can also be secured on-line via British Cycling’s road race calendar on the road section of their official website.
