James1234 comes across as quite naive to me. Just staying on the road for 5000 miles a year makes bikes the most expensive thing for me after rent and food. I like this thread because it's fun to see someone enjoying bikes for their own sake.

Bikes are actually extremely cheap. Most 'proper' hobbies are usually a £10k buy in + maintenance. Cycling is a bargain
Be sure to let your mum know how lucky she is, Indra.

Just let me have the rear corima, and help restore balance to Galaxy Carbone...
I"ll let you know first if its for sale. To be honest my bike looks kind of weird with a corima fourspoke rear and hed3 up front.
Btw great bikes indra..

Funny you should say that, as I've got a hed 3 rear, with a broken fixxer that I'm about to try and fix (replace)... Maybe we could come to some kind of arrangement. Need to have a closer look at the fixxer.

To get really high-spec competitive kit cycling is cheap.

I think I may as well post this but here's the story of the brooklyn.
It arrived and I built it up like this straight away.
Untitled by 40 skid patches, on FlickrThis I bought rotors for my other bike and bumped omniums down to this.
Untitled by 40 skid patches, on FlickrThen I crashed it and bent the post :(
Built it up like this for faster rides.
Untitled by 40 skid patches, on FlickrEnjoyed it a lot but sooner or later it needed to be a bruiser again.
Untitled by 40 skid patches, on FlickrThen back to fast mode.
Untitled by 40 skid patches, on FlickrSilly basket
Winter rides
Untitled by 40 skid patches, on FlickrAnd then here's how it currently sits.

Looks like you been having lots of fun on that brooklyn. Btw that Pendle is so good.

Definitely looked best in the second picture. Not me being a prick, but don't you get bored of constantly swapping parts between bikes?
-
• #42
I agree with you but I definitely need more reach than that had now, the next build will be sort of a cross between how it was then and this one.
Brooklyn Machine Works Gangsta Track v1, #310, 50 cm by tiaisentoni, on FlickrI don't get bored, I just find myself constantly wanting different things from my bikes. I know I have trouble committing to one thing but I'm ok with that.

Brooklyn needs blue fadez to match pendle and 'Ski

nice bikes, but not very nice seatposts. Everything else seems more or less thought through, but the posts...
-
• #48
I presume seatpost choice is somewhat limited by the length required?
-
• #49
Brooklyn: this needs a black post again.

no limits when it comes to indra's seatpost length
All of these things get as expensive as you let them
:)
