Just remember it's easier to cut less than you need away and sand down than it is to cut more than you needed and fill.

Are they really going to ruin the look of your bike if you leave them? Really?

Good point. I was thinking about it and it might hard to cut it perfectly. If it goes wrong I can't fill it because filler and powder coating don't go together well.

On a gaspipe frame, who cares?

Gas pipe or not, if I go through "trouble" sandblasting and powder coating the frame I want it to look decent. And I have my reasons to use this particular frame.
But thanks everyone for their opinions. I decided to leave those parts on the frame. Will be taking it for powder coating next week. Still have to make final decision on colour though.P.S. my guess is that nobody would ask such questions about valuable frame anyway.

You just need to take your time. I wouldn't even aim to take the whole thing off with the first cut, do a series of cuts getting nearer and nearer and then the last part use a dremel with a sanding part instead of a cutting part and slowly take it right the way back. The finish won't need to be great as the sand blast will clean it up a bit.
Sorry if this was already asked. I was't able to find such topic.
I'm converting an old Favorit Special road bike to SS. Took it to be sandblasted yesterday and planing to powder coat it after. Before powder coating I have to decide if I should cut all gear related paraphernalia to get a "cleaner" look. The frame isn't valuable therefore I'm thinking that I should cut those gear cable retainers. If I remember right there only 2 pieces to cut. But since there's no way back I thought I'll ask for other opinions.
Apologies for my English and a crappy photo.
