I think I may get the Vectors in due course.
Seem like the best solution for multiple bikes. -

Swapping a crankset is quicker.
Unless you need different chainrings. -

Just did rubber glove with my vectors, I am disappoint.
They've made my power drop.

bearing in mind I live near Windsor/Cookham/Henley and in the last few weeks we've had no choice but to ride through axle deep water....?
Basically if we came up to that i'd probably get off and walk, which would make my wet and grumpy...

I rode thought a bottle high ford with mine last week.
They're fine this week. Not water in batteries.

Also am i being a jessy not wanting to take them out on the road in current conditions?
Mine seem fine after 2 hours riding through the rivulets pouring off White Horse Hill yesterday.

A good cheap fixed option is an old Quarq, any of them will do. You have to turn off the autozero though, otherwise they're likely to try and zero at inopportune moments. I did a 10 on Sunday and it zeroed on the start line so I ended up with an average power of 229w, wondering why breaking 300w for the first couple of minutes felt a bit sticky :D

Steel single chainring bolts too, the older Quarqs are sensitive to bolt torque.

Just out of curiosity, how much do you weigh Ed?
-
• #1665
73kg
in fairness that's a complete crap attempt at a power test, given that I did an interval session on tuesday that made me throw up and did a 5k tempo in the morning!
Excuses etc..

• #1666
Ok, was that ride on the turbo then? Just wondering if you were really light to average 43kph with only a 189 average.
-
• #1667
What are you using as your FTP figure at the moment Ed?
-
• #1668
yes definitely on the turbo (and even more so on my turbo) so speed is not relevant in anyway
-
• #1669
Just logged into strava, what's the drop at 8:20? recovery?

I'm just looking back at some files from last year, wondering where I can get to this year.
I didn't actually do many long rides, the two longest were Ride100 and ROTFL I think.
Both of those were around 4 hours, so that looks to be the kind of period I should focus on to for which I need to raise my power.

• #1671
Although those are secondary to Nibberittet, that said.

wife called, so i stopped clock, carried on pedaling but not at the same intensity...
using this weeks data as FTP which is probably inaccurate.

Turn off phone or ignore!
gf often arrives home when I'm on turbo (filthy, I know) and she generally gets a vacant stare or if she's really lucky a grunt of acknowledgement. #turbo #stayclassy #chicksdigit

Was using phone to watch videos, I declined 3 times but felt 4 was probably a sign of something important.
it wasn't
