I've been pretty troubled by Josh's death. I didn't really get on with the fella but was starting to get to know him a little bit better by the time I saw him last. The few times I bumped in to him on the road were always warm greetings. He always struck me as a troubled bloke but I'm pretty disappointed in myself that I didn't really catch on to his positive sides before it was too late. His friends were always quick to defend his sometimes abrasive manner and from some of the things I have seen written about him I can see why. I regret not making more of an effort to understand him.
People who break the mold deserve to be celebrated. Given that I used to see him only a couple of times a year and even those times were usually spent bickering and debating, I'm going to miss this fella. In some ways he was almost too big for conventional life.
I hope today passes in a positive fashion for those who know him and loved him most. I can say from my perspective that Josh's death has really made me re-evaluate my behaviour to others. RIP you most confusing of legends.
