So I'm picking up this ratty Mongoose Iboc this weekend as a base for a new build.
I'm also getting a set of wheels for it and possibly a few other parts. So far it's costing me a six pack of (decent beer, ~$30 AUD).
The plan is to build it up as a 1x7 or 1x8 with dirt drops (probably On One Midge bars). Once again this is gonna be a parts bin / cheap build like the Cannondale Rack because I'm saving for a custom Kumo CX frame.
I plan to keep the paint on the frame as is.
Parts I already have:
Shimano 600 cranks (with either a 46t or 39t), but I'm not sure if the matching BB will work because of the chain stays.
Shimano 600 cantis
Shimano 600 rear derailleur (will probably use this short cage one if the cassette is 11-28)
Brooks B-17 Team Pro (black)
Tektro drop bar brake levers (silver levers)
Shimano bar end shifter
Jet Black Alloy MTB pedals
