  • True, but at least that special buyer knows he has to make some research before actually shelving that much money on a bike.
Which if the whole nice thing about this forum.

  • Why should he bother. He may be very time poor but hugely cash rich. Doesn't care but likes the colour and had one as a kid.

I still don't know what the real market as the owner of two of these fine bikes hasn't confirmed that he would sell either of them cheaper that the price on offer.

It is silly to talk about a "right price" when no market really exists.

    Are there others about?

  • about a thousand of them.

  • Very clever.

Send me a link pls...after all I may be a buyer.

Had a quick look. Very quick.

Surprise surprise... This seems to be the only one for sale TODAY

    One 1989 frame sold recently.

  • Still alot of money. This dealer frame went for €750 http://www.eroicacicli.com/forsale/frames/stelbel-corsa/ and this rare pursuit went for €2400 (only 20 were made) http://www.eroicacicli.com/forsale/bicycles/stelbel-pursuit-pista-1986/.

    Alas...:

"To noob, or not to noob: that is the question:Whether this noobler's mind to suffer
the slings and arrows of outrageous fortune, Or to take arms against a sea of troubles, and by opposing end them?"

  • Well, try to sell it quickly as they are coming back:

    http://www.stelbel.it/?lang=en

  • too cheap or too expensive ... can we all at least agree the seller is quite a dick?

  • dont know. Havent seen his picture

  • I love this forum,it's like a pub debate but without the underlying threat of sudden unprovoked violence;)

  • I am very much a new boy here, but would we have such chat if the bike was priced at £20.??
We would have 10,000 dibs before you could finish the first PM. I doubt if anyone would say that it was tooooo cheap. They would be too busy send PMs.
Too low, too high?? So what. Buyer and seller make the market.
Gimondi, would you sell either of your Stelbels TODAY for a cheaper price?
If so, post it up. You never know where the market is unless you are in the market.
Is there another one on the market? I haven't seen one .
Who knows, it could be the bike I dreamed of as a kid and price doesn't matter--so long as it's in top condition. The Pirate may be too cheap for all we know.

A very big thanks to Spicep for your neutrality , for your english better than mine and for not offending me.

Could also be totally overpriced. After reading the discussion i looked at the first similar threads down below, where a imo very nice stelbel went for 300 euros (granted cheaper prob due to size and group).. with no knowledge on stelbel would still guess that this is a 'special' price and would take a special buyer to purchase. Glws

Every time i try to "create" a right price , right with the market value , right with his rarity , state of conservation , components , shipping etc etc.

True, but at least that special buyer knows he has to make some research before actually shelving that much money on a bike.

Yes , perfect , so this object is in a free market , the same free market that everyone scans , isn't it?

Well , a market really exists.

    about a thousand of them.

  • Pantani ebay is the way, senti a me

  • Pantani ebay is the way, senti a me

ok so first of all let me translate "senti a me" is like "listen to me" said in a slang way.

Then , Gimondi, Yeah like always i will put my bike on the bay but only after one week / 10 days here.
That doesn't mean that the price will be lower , i will do an auction with reserve price AT LEAST of 1500 euro excluded shipping.

    Thanks anyway for your suggestions.
    bye

  • too cheap or too expensive ... can we all at least agree the seller is quite a dick?

Why? i don't agree that he's "a dick" at all.

The chap tries to sell his wares on here just like anybody else albeit at the upper end of the price scale and for that 'crime' he gets his arse trolled.

Out comes all the resentment, hate and negativity dressed up as some kind of superior cycle knowledge. And yes, if he was underselling his stuff cheap as chips guess what? he'd be a splended fellow wouldn't he?

    It's only bike stuff not life's essentials....get a grip

  • Wooow that's a fantastic comment!!!!
I couldn't write and explain better than you , merci beaucoup Fignon!!
You deserve a speciale price , obviously if you have interest on stelbel :)
    bye

  • There's really a lot of talking about this Stelbel frames. Am I the only one who doesn't give a f. about them and sells them for this price?

  • In the 1970's, TIG kit was the preserve of Aerospace and Nuclear, i.e. real high end.

I can't see why a frame builder, even today with affordable kit, would choose TIG over filet brazing a steel frame.
Plus there's no filler bead evident.

ok , here we have just another forum's professor....what you wrote is partially right , TIG welding was a preserve of Aerospace industry , but during the II world war...so a little bit before of your datation...

So? Do you think that i wrote "year 1975" just to write something , isn't it? I've asked to Stelio to make a datation , is not mine.

Try to do something , copy and paste the images of my stelbel , contact through FB the Tig master , Dario Pegoretti , he uses FB very easily and he answers to everyone...show him these pics and ask him info about the bike. Please , i'm not joking ,do it.

  • No, I won't. You patronising git.

I'm not trying to knock your sale. I'm not interested in your bike.

I was making an observation on the technology of the time, if you didn't pick up on that..

Your 'observation' was meh, so what was the point in making it? At least PtP was civil, which is more than you are able to do.

Lets him sell his bike, or otherwise, in peace.

  • how is the lateral compliance and does the seatpost come with an inverse shim?

Hi uber , I hope these pics can satisfy your questions.
    bye

    PantaniThePirate

  • inverse shims are not required with tig welding. Surprised at you Jim.
