Would a bar bag not be easier?
I'm not ruining the looks of my bike with a bloody bar bag.

I reckon you'd be better off doing back-to-back 200's

This.
A small bar bag and saddle bag would be idea, front for gel, phone, windbreaker, etc. rear for tools, food, etc.
You don't really wanna pull over just to get some content out of the bag, and it's nice not to always carry shit in your back pocket.

You've got the Audax bug bad.
I'm not ruining the looks of my bike with a bloody bar bag.
I withdraw my comment.

I'll only believe that Señor Bear has the Audax bug when he changes his username to Señor Beard. What does riding 1,000km count for, anyway?

Sure fire method for pulling all the Audax-hoes

I withdraw my comment.
When you see my Audax bike you'll realise I'm no normal bearded, OS map merchant.

Pfft. Breakfast.
Then what?
-
• #2168
then I'll eat that Pinarello frame and pack my stomach out with some bubble wrap.

• #2169
Then your Audax bug will soon turn into a stomach bug, and then what?

Anyone else heading down for the Worthing winter warmer? By train?

Finally amassed the 25 points for the Fixed Wheel Challenge. It's only taken me three years.
I'm celebrating with a badge and starting all over again. Also going to have another crack at the Fixed SR. I only missed out on that by two rides last time I tried it. Shouldn't be too hard.

Was thinking Ortlieb saddlebag large.
I would suggest this is ample, if combined with a tribag or jumper pocket stash. These are excellent bags and a good investment for light touring.
BCM has a bag drop which is more than enough to give you a fresh change of gloves and dry knicks.
I took a large ortleib bag last year PLUS a frame bag, most all of which was filled with food and I hardly used any of it because the event was so well catered.
however, the BCM can be prone to very foul weather, so plan to take at least a softshell and a rain jacket.
Plan for the worst hope for the best and all that

Anyone fancy riding to/from the Bryan Chapman?
That would be a seeerious undertaking.
I doubt you would ride back. the train would be too appealing.
when I got back to chepstow, all I wanted in the world was a beer and my bed.

Oh hello Zanda how are you? Thank you for this.

I will ride back. Your weaknesses are no counter point for my epicness
I am interested. this would be the my Audax, and first time i've cycled over 200k.
What are some good London based events in the run up to get my eye in?
Should I be aiming to do a 400k sometime in the build up?
