Wouldn't the rear dropout width cause a problem?

Yeah, I'd have to find a 130mm hub, or replace an axel and space out a standard one.

y u no Pre Cursa? I know everybody has one, but there's a reason for that.

wouldn't it be a pain to always have to use 130mm spaced rear wheels?
Why overcomplicate things? It's not really nice enough to justify the faff it would involve.

I agree really. It's just a bit more interesting than a Pre Cursa. To be honest, I don't need a TT or a track frame. The next thing I drop money on will be a new road frame, it's just the cursed endless shopping list of cycling gnawing at wallet.

I had a go at the arithmetic for the frame's BB height:
700c x 23mm tyre circumference is 2097mm (according to my computer calibration manual) so 2097/pi = diameter = 667.5mm. So it's 667.5/2 = 333.75mm from the centre of the wheel to the ground.
Subtract the BB drop to get the height of the BB above the ground: 333.75 - 61 = 272.75mm. Which is less than the Manchester minimum BB height.
And I suspect BB heights are normally quoted without taking the tyre into account, which would only make the BB on that frame even closer to the ground.
Between the braze-ons, the spacing, the bottle bosses and the BB height, I don't think it's worth the bother.

Thanks for the maths - you're right. Ah well, at least I saved myself a few quid.

Actually...BB heights are normally quoted with wheels and tyres in place, so you probably would meet the Manchester minimum with that frame.
Still don't think it's worth the hassle, though! :-)

Well, I dropped all my cash on a LOOK 586 SL so I won't be on the track anytime soon anyway :)
So I'm pondering buying this
and some of the Chinese Funda 3T copies for use as a fixed TT bike and perhaps also on the track. The geo here says the BB drop is 61mm, which would just get past the 11" / 280mm minimum BB height for track.
The rear mech hanger is removable, it has rear facing drop outs... the only problem I can see is the front mech braze-on, but according to the Manchester velodrome info, this can be padded and taped up. Obviously I'd have different wheels / tyres for road and track.
Is the geo at all suited to track cycling? Is this a stupid idea? All advice and answers welcome...
