I'm this close to cancelling my much delayed Stages order and going for a P2M.
The only thing preventing me from doing so is that I want a PM that I can swap between bikes relatively easily, as I'll do most of my training on one bike and most of my racing on another.
I don't know why anyone would buy such new power tech, given the updates other units have required to fix issues.
Disc Powertap?

....Not if hes running tubs.
A P2M wouldnt be a bad choose for this. If you can workout a chainring combo you're happy with for both, it'd be a breeze. Swapping chainrings adds like 10mins I guess.
Internet wisdom seems to say its one of the most weatherproof PMs out there. So another plus for CX use.
This may just be me. But I was pretty happy to here I could ditch my cadence sensor with the P2M too. I've lost several magnets, and trashed a few sensors. If I was racing CX, I'd go through them quicker than tyres.

Doesn't everyone run CX tubs to get over London roads? I thought CX or MTBs were necessary now?

I'm currently offroading on 20mm TT tyres. So dont ask me.

I crashed into a canal with my P2M once, it still worked fine afterwards but I needed fixing up, lol. Shimano also came out with a BB power meter patent but no further than that I think. If Shimano make a crank PM it will likely work and be available everywhere, potentially cheap but not if it's DA crank only.

All British TTs are 'off road' being based on British roads. 19mm tubs ftw

When have Shimano ever introduced something on DA/XTR and not move it down market as soon as they could? 2 years after a DA PM, there will be a non-series 700 (Ultegra quality) version for users of every other Shimano groupset.

I wish they would hurry up and do so

errr... so yeah....
So much for waiting till the 30th June for Stages...

Nice. Theyre far neater in the flesh.
My P2M s-type arrived......
......At my parents.
More waiting.

I just got an email from P2M- they now accept PayPal.

I ticked the box to share fees when I did the bank transfer. Figured they should pay their share if theyre going to be awkward.

With P2M Paypal certainly makes life a lot easier, they'll get more business that way. A couple of my athletes have been bugging them about a track PM and one of them told me a 144bcd Rotor 3D and 3D+ compatible track option would be ready to order within about a month

Snap!
Too late to risk putting them on for now, and my tt bike doesn't have much in the way of a cockpit at the moment as I'm waiting for new cables but looking forward to installing them tomorrow and having a play!

Do you have the crows foot adapter for your torque wrench?
Every single article I have read about the Vectors says a) that they are very good and b) if not torqued up correctly will be anything but accurate.

Yes all the gear and no idea!

I have one as provided by the nice bike shop which fits both the wrench and the pedals, so hopefully I don't need to buy anything else for a while! (Except a pointy helmet)

Interesting- I filled out the track-PM survey they sent round a while ago, and from the odd exchange I've had with them I knew they were working on this, just not when it might be available.
I have a pair of Rotor 3D track cranks.

I want a track PM so bad. and I dont even live near a track.
Realy want to take my fixed riding a little more serious. Half my strava PBs, as well as my current FTP, are set riding fixed.

Well I rather like my track Powertap. Like Powertaps generally, it just works. Although it did cost more than the whole of the rest of the bike, including the original wheels.

I saw my new wheels at the weekend- Dura Ace 7710 hubs, spoke washers, Sapim DB spokes to NOS Ambrosio Nemesis rims (with entertaining "DUREX" stickers).
I keep thinking about a track powertap, but I prefer the flexibility of crank based too much.
I'd buy the 144bcd P2M if it was Rotor 3D compatible.

Errr... so my torque wrench hasn't arrived yet but I couldn't be bothered to wait so I installed them anyway. I'm well aware that my data may be a bit weird until everything is torqued correctly but I did a first interval session on the turbo just now and I suddenly feel better about not waiting for stages. Apparently the harder I work the more even my pedal balance is but during recovery periods I favour the right leg to the tune of 55-60% and during standing efforts I favour my right leg between 60 and 70%.
Obviously none of these numbers actually mean anything but interesting none the less. It doesn't surprise me that my L-R balance is a bit shonky to be honest.

Of course it could just be the units not reporting the right numbers and you are going to start worrying about something that's not 'off'...
Seems to hint at an ability to further develope it. Untill it can automatically change gear for you, when inefficiency is detected.
LOL at integrating a a power meter for a cleaner crank look. Yet it being a Shimano DA crank.
