  • There is no clearance for barspins on my plug racer medium frame.
If i put a scissor fork the problem will be sorted and will give me enough toe clearance?

    Simply put yes....

I even have a scissor fork I could sell you (cheeky plug)

  • I have scissors on my malum frame (53cm), it would spin if not for the bars. You have to re-drill the fork if you want a brake, though.

  • Buy a freestyler fork.

  • There is no clearance for barspins on my plug **racer **medium frame.

    The clue is in bold.

  • From what I heard from my friends who have it it's a nice bike, however it's not the lightest bike but feels very sturdy, I found a if you want to look for yourself

    www.fixedwheelreview.com/charge-plug/

  • what the fuck is that?

  • i could of written a better review if id sneezed on the keyboard, complete with bog wanking references ;)

plugs good, ive got a large freestyler, i went with that cos i wouldnt trust skinny rims under my immense fatness.
its heavy as fuck with nut crushing lack of standover just to get the right tt, i wish id got the med tbh
the tyres are pap, slow as hell but do take some of the buzz out, i wouldnt trust the front at all, fast corners, downhill or in the wet and theres no faith in them, im too skint to change them atm, hold up ok to punctures tho, ive only had one piece of wire make it thru n im riding thru glass n shit constantly round here

my advice is bin the tyres, buy the size down from the one that fits, better brake pads n then just ride the fucker, ive had 28.5 mph out of mine, it does the job

  • Haha, I think that might be a little harsh, but I understand where your coming from. Like I said I just found it on the net, thought it might be useful. :S

  • Hi all
I'm new to this site and hope there is the expertise out there to help me make decision. I have used a 53cm frame charge plug for my daily commute for years now, ultimately the frame is now damaged, i need to replace it, not sure I want a charge frame again as I fancy something lighter. Does anyone have a suggestion? I was thinking. On one pompino, dolan lee cursa, fuji feather, langster, and I've just seen this black market NFS which looks interesting http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/Mobile/MobileModels.aspx?ModelID=58122
    Any suggestions are most welcome.
    Thanks
    Gregg

  • Hey guys, I bought my bike about a year and a half ago and the seatpost was stuck in it (It came like that, if I wasn't such a bike noob at the time I would have said something)

Well it needs adjusting and I use my bike every day to commute so I will need to order a new post before I cut my one out. I was just wondering and I'm sure someone on here knows, What is the size of the seatpost I need? is it 27.2 as most signs online seem to suggest?

Its a 2009 Charge plug, The chrome one.

    Thanks in advance!

    Mikey

  • Yes, 27.2.
Have you tried taking the BB out and pouring coca-cola into the upside-down seat tube? Leave it to soak in for a while. Also try getting it as hot/warm as you can - the steel frame will expand more than the alloy post.

(This should probably be in mechanics and fixin' lots of advice on seized seat-posts in there)

  • i've tried the heat technique but not the coke technique, does it really work though? this post is really frickin stuck in there haha

edit not sure why i spelt there as their. must be too busy worrying about my stuck post!

  • what are you like eh?

  • my plug

  • What the hell is that thing on the seat tube?

  • That's a seat tube protector, obvs.

  • Dare I ask what is it doing there? I mean I understand top tube protector but this?

  • It's the tube protector equivalent of an inverse shim.

  • Actually, that would probably something to protect the inside of the tube.

What I meant was that it's either a joke or someone really misunderstood something.

  • He's had his seattube welded back together after a seriously stuck seatpost and for some reason is ashamed of the rattiness beneath the pad!

  • I'm not ashamed loz! I will put images up of the mess that is my down tube

    ¡viva la seattube weld revolution!

seriously these things are the strongest frames, you can't kill them off. a friend of mine is riding a charge plug frame from '08 he bought as an absolute beater to paris and back with us in april. I'll be riding my plug too

  • I used to have an '09 Plug Racer. Kinda miss that bike, nice geo and built like a tank..

To any '14 Plug One owners out there, wots it like? Not many reviews up online yet from what I can see.
