PM from Matt at Talbot - he'd like to use the WUs for bike photos which is probably the best use for them really - I don't think riding them would be a great idea - unless you know a good dentist and have a penchant for reconstructive surgery.

Well, I was planning on using them for a dropout removal/replacement experiment...

What sort of head set (integrated/press fit) are the win wood forks for?
-
• #7
They'll work fine with either. Look great with external & look fine with integrated / integral I reckon.

Want to ask Matt if he reckons there is a way to safely remove and re-attach the dropouts then? He might be able to answer without having to actually remove them...

They are bonded, no? Probably just a case of applying enough heat...I'll ask him if that's a destructive process.

Cheers, basically, I have road and want track, in theory just a case of removing the dropouts, and putting them in the wrong way... Not sure about heat and carbon though... Don't want to waste a pair of Woundups!

1) left: Winwood Muddy carbon / alu disc fork. **£60
700g or so, 21cm 1 1/8th steerer, 45mm rake, 398mm AC, mudguard eyelets and mount drilling. I raced this fork for two seasons. It's tough and remains in good condition. There's a spot of paint missing from the rear of the crown and as usual around the dropouts. Otherwise it's looking great. £60 + postage or collect it from Paddington.
**2) right: Wound-up carbon / alu disc fork. **BROKEN. £15.
600g or so, 23cm 1 1/8th steerer, 47mm rake. 395mm AC, mudguard eyelets and mount drilling. This fork was involved in an RTC on the way home from an abysmal race and subsequently written off. Insult to injury.
So I can't recommend you ride it, but you might like it on your wall. No sign of damage, for what its worth. £15 + postage or collect it from Paddington.
