  • As everyone should.

  • I didn't know Clifford did tattoos?

  • Ha! Took me a while to understand what was going on there. Only when I saw Dhalsim's face did everything fall into place.

  • Did lol

  • Who's that?

  • The artist or the character in the image?

Just something that scrolled past on my browser yesterday, coincidentally. Monkey D. Luffy by Dado Carlini. Also, the artist who did the tattoo in Skunkworks's pic is Alain Head, from Lima.

  • That's simply stunning.

  • Its really not.

  • Really not liking this. Looks like a test run with a couple of biros.

I find it sinister, cryptic, sketchy, chaotic, messy and WAY too big.

  • yeah really not my style.
    However.
    This is:

Maxime remains to be one of my favourite artists.

  • I quite like the first torso ^

The bottom left arm reminds me of itsbruce's Rennie MacIntosh inspired back.

  • got this yesterday

Tika that is fucking awesome! How long did you have to wait? Im hoping to go and put down my deposit in the next couple of weeks to get a spot with xam.

  • @clockwork_killa. I waited for two years. He is moving on to another place called seven doors tattoos. Send him an email at xamwaitinglist@gmail.com

  • And that my friends is the reason why I'm over trying to get an appointment with the big dogs. The first tattoo I got was by Andrea furci at the family business. I had to wait 3 weeks and to this day it's still my favourite tattoo and I absolutely adore it. If xam had done it I wouldn't love it any more than I already do.

Andrea is moving to seven doors with Xam too. Seven doors have for a damn good line up of artists!

  • I know he has a fucking crazy waiting list but I just love his work. Im only intending to get something smallish so Im hoping he might be able to squeeze me in somewhere. I do know what you mean though Jake, my first tattoo is still my favourite even though it wasnt from a super well known artist, I think I even prefer it to the piece I got from Jasmin Austin.
Furci is also on my list as is Claudia Desabe, so 7 doors is going to be seeing a lot of me

  • Yes I hope that I don't have to wait so much to have my other calf done! So far Xam's tattoo is my favourite. I never expected something like this. I also loved Family business as they treat you nicely and don't have this frith st attitude

After I had my arm tattooed by him, Xam said I could come back pretty much whenever and wouldn't have to wait all that long - it'd be kind of ridiculous otherwise. Same has been true with Valerie Vargas and seems to be how most of the people with long lists work.

    That tattoo is great Tika!

Next time I'm in London I'm going to pop into 7 Doors - wanted to get tattooed by Claudia de Sabe and Jondix for ages and it's been a while since my last one...

  • What is the frith street attitude? I love TFB. It's so homely. All my work has been done there and I'm having some more there next month. I do need to go somewhere else too though. Just to see what it's like...

  • Yeah once an artist does work on you they seems to be a lot easier to book with them again.
I know my second piece by Liam Sparkes I only waited a week or two from asking to actually getting it done.

  • ^^
I got made to feel pretty uncomfortable in Frith Street while trying to book a spot with Xam.

Dakin - keep an eye on Maxime's instagram, if he ever has space he put a post up. Pretty much everyone who works at Sang Bleu is awesome.

  • Yeah man.
I think I'm going to gradullay save up for a big torso piece by him for the end of the year.
I also want work from Philip Yarnell and Barbe Rousse when he next guest spots.

  • What sumo said basically. I went there twice only. I was never comfortable, probably I am not trendy enough! Valerie was great though

  • Daniele Ceyen Hoang (Psycho Tattoo, Rome). Don't normally go for the traditional style but I really love this. He's done a couple of guest spots at Frith Street.

He was at the Brighton convention this weekend (far right in pic). Lovely bloke.
