One thing he forget to mention is that he actually did perform a service on the Steamroller, so what you're getting is pretty equal to an Evans Cycle Silver Service (with the advantage of not being serviced at Evans obviously) and been sensibly overhauled with new chain, fresh bottom bracket and a proper clean-down.
So £300 is an excellent price for a recently serviced fixed wheel road bicycle, perfect for club ride, commuting or even long ride on.

True that ed, it's just had a brand new sram PC1 nickel chain and the whole bike was properly stripped and cleaned up last week, including degreasing the sprocket and chainring, plus brand new brake levers and bar tape. It's also got good condition swiss stop bxp brake pads in there aswell.

Hmmm, I've just got back to London and am bikeless. I used to ride a 54 fuji track that fit perfectly - could i possibly get away with this?
-

If you ride a 54, then the Surly will fit.
Hell, even it fit me reasonably well.

Hi 44/17
I had a look at the size chart on the surly website and a quick measure against my current bike and there’s not too much difference.
I’m 5”9 with a 29” inside leg so was thinking it might be worth a once over to see how it fits?
Don’t know if you have anyone interested in it? Let me know if up for grabs, I’d be interested in coming for a look.Cheer

closing thread
** £300 ONO Collected SW17 SOLD **. If you want to come and view it tea will be provided.
Would rather not split or post at the moment.
I've been commuting on this bike over the winter, am only selling it too replace it with a brand new steamroller build. Rides like a dream, takes rough roads and potholes in it's stride. Only downside there are two small dents on the frame, one on the seat-tube one on the down-tube. Nothing major but have to point it out. I'm 5' 7'' and it fits me fine, it has about a 53cm top tube, don't let the 49cm put you off, remember it's got clearance for massive tyres.
Specification and more photos below.
Frameset
Surly Steamroller, Maroon 49cm, with FSA orbit sealed headset in good condition.
Geometry on Surly's site here
Drivetrain
Shimano UN55 BB. Driveline track cranks, 167.5mm. Gebhardt 43t 1/8 Chainring. 15t rear sprocket. Sram chain.
Wheels
Formula sealed bearing hubs to Alex DA28 rims. Rear hub is flip flop so can be run fixed or SS. Front rim has little brake wear, rear has never been braked on and I've blacked out the braking surface with vinyl that can be easily removed. 700x28c Marathon tyres in good condition.
Other parts fairly generic but do the job. Just put some fresh tektro levers and bar tape on. Will chuck the SKS mudguards in but they can be easily removed. SPD's not included, Will provide some basic clips+straps pedals to get you on your way.
