Nice day yesterday so after the morning ride I dug out the '56. Just a few teaser shots for now, I'll make a separate thread in current projects.

Under closer inspection I'm convinced this isn't the OG paint, I have found what looks to be a green paint inside the seat tube which is under the red paint.

I picked this up last night, it's a 1985 Strada Speciale in 753t. Mostly C-Record bits and bobs, and 76° angles so pretty twitchy. I now have two Mercians, so I guess by definition I have a collection!!

Can anyone tell me why I shouldn't repaint mine?!

Kinda want to 'modernise' (i.e. make boring) the colour scheme, let's say silver paint / white contrasts / black leather. I'd also have some lugs put on the fork for front panniers and have the dropouts chromed.

From bling to understated posh? Very on-trend. I like the bling personally. It's your bike though.
