I am the first friend....I've made it to the nursery (one post down).
I thought this was going to be a simple purchase of a nice bike, however I fear it will escalate into a search for the perfect set up..........intruiged yet slightly daunted at the same time...
Looking forward to it! -

Great buy that. I would love something similar in a 53 or 54.
Used but still very nice Van Tuyl frame of high end Columbus SLX tubing with great 2x7 speed Shimano 600 group.
Very nice bike of the late 80ties made of famous Columbus SLX tubing with nice blue metalic paint. The frame has a few small chips and 3 bigger spots on the head tube (see photo's). No dings or dents. The cromed fork is very shiny but unfortunately some rust on the fork crown. The chrome on the rear fork is shiny overall.
Seat tube: 55 cm (c-t)
Top tube: 56 cm (c-c)
rear fork width: 130mm
Bike is in a very good overall condition. It has all original marks of the high quality handmade Columbus SLX frames. Imagine this was the most expensive frame wich was used by a lot of pro's. It has Campagnolo drop outs and a braze on for for the race number. The wheels are not the Original ones. Because of the 130mm rear fork spacing u can also change for 8 speed or more.
Shimano 600: brakes, crankset, shifters, seatpost, rear and front mech
Wheels: Shimano hubs (rear = 126mm) with 7 speed gear block, Mavic rims, fresh Hutchinson clincher tyres.
Modolo handle bar and stem.
Aluminium Shimano 600 seatpost with classic Rolls saddle
Pedals: none (i have a pair of Shimano 600 pedals without clips for free if you like).
Bottle cage: included
