  • how was it? I keep meaning to get in there.

    Was alright, bit of a 'jazz club' sit politely and silently appreciate vibe. Had the same thing the other time I've played there and the other bands got the same treatment so presumably it wasn't because we were shit. Soundguy was good, stage was tiny, beer was good.

  • Nnnnnnnnnice.

    Finished this yesterday, it's off being mastered now. There's even a bit of twin guitar harmony action in there. *kitchen sink

  • Your vocals are really great on that, Dooks... Strong work, love it!

  • Yeah, gotta say I like that.

    Leaving you band hanging on the high 5 is poor form though

  • Heh! cheers gents.

  • I reckon this is just the right place to post, since I think building up bikes has made me realize that there can be alternatives for off-the-peg stuff. Sooo, I'm slowly starting my first guitar project, a baritone telepartscaster. The first item arrived today,

    I'm not planning to do any painting/lacquering myself so that may put up the cost a bit, but at least now this still looks relatively cost effective -- probably had been even more so if I'd gone for regular tele scale length.

  • Looks nice, where's the neck from? Warmoth or something?

    A guy called DC Kunkle on ebay. A pleasure to deal with and I'm happy with the quality. He does custom spec orders at least on neck thickness and fingerboard radius for a reasonable upcharge.

  • Sweet!

    I used to buy cheapo squier teles and covert them to esquiers with a few upgrades. Might do another one soon actually. E-squier with a Bigsby?

    I'm really after a tele with a bigsby at the moment - if you do end up doing this and get sick of the thing, let me know, would grab it off you in a heartbeat.

  • Anyone had any experience with Tokai HummingBird Acoustics? There's one on the 'bay now that i'm keen on - but are they quality or crap?

  • Never tried their acoustics... Owned a few (still have a couple) of the solid bodies, they are ace...

    Made in Japan or Korea? Or have Tokai moved their manufacturing to China as well?

  • OG Tokai Hummingbird... Want!

  • I thinks its an early 70s one, before they strated their Cats Eye acoustic brand, so i expect it would be Japan.
    even the Tokai - Registry site is annoyingly vague.
    Might just have a punt.

  • My Tokai Jap LP is awesome.

    How much is it going for?

  • Tokai LPs are really nice.

    @TS, love that Tele!!

  • 100 squids

  • awaits 'new guitar lol' pix from joe in 3... 2... 1...

  • Tokai LPs are really nice.

    @TS, love that Tele!!

    I've got a Jap made LPTV and it's awesome, great neck... Could probably do with a hotter P90 but it's an amazing guitar for the £500 it cost...

    Tele belongs to dooks!

    100 squids

    That is very cheap... Gotta be worth a punt...

  • Reckon the Tokai is the same one that sold here in 2012, in which case description is quite promising.

    I like it. Kinda Fender Palomino vibe. Could be a lot of fun for 100 notes. Much more, I dunno.

  • It's got a smiley face! And small ones are more juicy, everyone knows that...

  • In other news...

    #wow
