There was a post further up about a jumble in Parrs Wood, but that was a few years ago. Unfortunately I'm away in August and can't go to the velodrome jumble. Do they still have a jumble @ Parrs Wood?

About twice a year I think, dunno when the next one is though, I'm sure Google will tell you.

Didn't it move to Pop-up?

The Parrs wood jumble hasn't been on for a while due to some difficulties with the site owners (Don't know all the details), The chap that used to run it, Tony, has organised one near Jackson's boat @ The Bike Barn on 20th July, see site below:
The pop up jumble is on the first Saturday of every month and the turnout seems to depend on the weather and if there is a jumble elsewhere. There can be many sellers lined up along the street outside or no-one could turn up.
There is also a fairly regular jumble at Broadbottom, right by the station. Next one 19th July.

I am looking for a second hand singlespeed bike, I asked D from Popup bikes and he said I should go to the jumble sale at the velodrome on the 24th.
I have never been to one of these before and I was wondering what kind of bikes are sold and whether it is worth making the trip from London or not? -

It is, bu there are other jumbles daan saath!

pop up bikes jumble? its barely worth travelling from anywhere usually. occasionally there are quite nice bikes for cheap. usually nothing good.

Think they're talking about the velodrome jumble over the bank holiday weekend
Coincides nicely with the CAMRA Summer Beer Festival...

fantastic im going that. sweet!

I'm going to sell that campag record derailleur they're and spend the money on lots of beer.

• #94
If I got there around 1, would that be too late for the jumble?
-
• #95
^ as there's no guarantee the right bike for you will be there I'd suggest putting the cost of time and travel towards buying a nicer bike closer to home, unless it's a journey you'd be making anyway and finding the bike you want would be a bonus.

Sound advice @rhb.
@CasualLime jumble's due to begin at 10am. All the best stuff likely to go very quickly. Hardly worth the train fare coming for the final hour's dredging, when some sellers might already have gone home/to get drunk. -

Thank you for the advice guys, I was planning to see some friends after. But there is so much disruption to the rail service on Sundays, I don't think I will bother coming up at all. I might just wait until I am back up in Manc for uni and go to the next one.

Doors for queues open at 8am, so does cafe. Jumble only starts at 10 but best to get there much earlier.

Might pop down later on for a nose around the leftovers.
upgraded my Dolan frame and ended up with a bike too nice for the roads so became a track only bike, but i was missing the fixed commute. this will fit the bill nicely.
just glad i left when i did as its too easy to spend a fortune while there
