If you have £250, save up £150 more and get a Charge Plug instead.

If you're really struggling, get a Jamis Beatnik for £270, it's a little over 10lbs, but it's reliable and come with warranty/free 6 weeks service.

If you want a cheap road bike, Pinnacle Dolomite 1 for £450 would be a lots lighter than the Teman;

If you are looking for a new bike at your budget I think decathlon own brand is the best your are going to do.

This. B'Twin Triban 3 gets good reviews and is amazing value for £300.

Had one for a short while last summer. Won it for about £120 and it worked fairly well. Would not pay more than 200 for it though.

I would go for the btwin over that pinnacle for the money, only problem is whether it's assembled well or not.

Teman < Walking. Having serviced a few I'd say 5 miles a day = 6 month life span. At best.
