It's nice when they're so simple like that. Just the essentials.
I just never like running the risk of having one without a cork screw.
If anyone's interested in all the different modles there's a blog somewhere where this guy is pretty much testing them all.
EDIT: Here it is http://www.thewsreviews.com/search/label/SAK
Although for some reason on a computer it seems hard to filter and find than on an iphon. Basically a reviewer called Matthew Robertson did a SAK of the Month

These are great budget knives - they sharpen well and hold an edge. Illegal in the uk unless you have a good reason to be carrying though.

I need to slice my baguette/ham/cheese should be enough reason for anyone.

You can buy them without the locking ring, or remove it. Then they are legal.

Questionable about legality, and certainly dangerous, they don't have a spring, so they can really easily close on your fingers whilst buttering your baguette.
Just keep the lock ring and don't threaten anyone, and have a list of the things you use it for as a defence in the unlikely event of you being asked why you have it.
And don't take it to the pub, school, airport and stuff. You'll be fine! -

Had this discussion earlier with the misses when I popped out with one to take a clipping of plant down the road. My defence was that I was wearing Birkenstocks and had a tub of rooting agent.

I bought the sharpening jig thing (which I thought had been mentioned in this thread but I cannot find the post) and it has made my older chefs knife very sharp again.

I used to work in my mums restaurant when I was at sixthform many moons ago. The head chef used to sharpen all the knifes on a Sunday evening and not tell anyone. On Monday morning everyone cut themselves cutting veg.
Massive CSB.

The law says without good reason, so he was peeling an apple, that is good reason.

The police actually does something against a person carrying an Opinel knife? It's not even a real knife...

I have carried a knife since I was given one from from my grandad, (I was about 10 years old) never been pulled for it, and the only person I have cut is myself.
