^^ the issues with braking performance in OTP bicycles is largely due to moisture in the housing when the bike is shipped to the shop causing friction inside the housing and it's not economically feasible to replace it with a new cable otherwise we'd run out of them before using them on customer's bicycles.
Would be preferable if they prebuild the bike without running the cable through the housing.
