Right. Based on (or in spite of) the discussion above, my reading of Wattage forum and multiple other reviews, I'm 99% committed buying Stages Rival PM.
I'm a little bit worried by the left leg x2 approach as I wouldn't be surprised if my legs were lopsided (I spent most of my rowing "career" rowing on the same side and it's only 5years later that I look reasonably symmetrical in the mirror...), but all the reviews I've read seem to imply that stages does perform reasonably well when the data from multiple power meters are compared.
95% of my motivation is driven by the desire to improve the efficacy of my training, so so long as the data is reasonably consistent for me then it should be fine. The remaining 5% of my motivation is because I'd like to play with some home aero testing too but I'm less clear about whether that requires more accurate (as opposed to precise) data.
Finally the price swayed it. At a stretch I might be able to afford P2M or even Vector but then I'd be broke again. Opting for stages gives me the freedom to update the drivetrain and possibly buy some TriRig Omega while still leaving me some change in my pocket.
So, the Team Sky MAMIL frenzy means that stages are out of stock everywhere. Does anyone know when they are expected back in stock and how best to make sure I get hold of one ASAP?
