I just came across this image, which i'm going to plonk here because i think its interesting. (sorry if a repost)
Shows how big the difference is between Wiggo and Andy. Would be interesting to see a similar comparison with Wiggo, Fab and Tony Martin or other top testers.
Wiggo has bigger thighs, Andy has more arse. These promote different crank-pelvis relationships which influence the range of efficient torso angles.

The picture is interesting. But the helpful lines are all over the place. Seem designed to exagerate the difference in back angle instead of illustrating it. Shame.

I'll have an Adamo for sale soon, £40 + postage for anyone on here who's interested. It's blue, but good for trying out a split nosed saddle on the cheap (relatively).

£600 and it's Power Torque: why not Ultra Torque?
-
• #5834
I bet the total frontal area is similar for both. Looks it. So any advantage must be through better air flow over the flat back position, and less air flow below the body.

Or their huge difference in power output and ability to suffer...
-
• #5836
I think that was being taken as a given?

I don't know what the point of the photos is.
Two different riders in two different positions shocker..
-

Similarly, Hutch and Botty. Hutch has got more of a Tony Martin 'aerofoil' shape, whereas Bottrill is pure flat back back and 90° limbs like Wiggins. Martin and Hutch are faster though...

Erm. To all.
Not a single bit of fact anywhere. Hearsay.

Yes please on the Adamo.
** edit: oops, slow to refresh posts. 2nd dibs behind Ed and if he doesn't get on with it, I'd appreciate trying it out.**

Its rare to see two photos so perfectly aligned, that was all. A chance to spot what differences there are more clearly than by comparing photos of riders from different distances/angles or racing on different courses.
We post millions of photos on this forum, few of them are shockers but many of them are mildly interesting.

Because UltraTorque is expensive, the Bora is available if you want UT. Bullet is <£500 at Wiggle, Bora is a smidge over £600

I didn't realise it was the budget option; I assumed for that sort of money it would all be top spec stuff.Mirage pista FTW! :)

Hutchinson isn't as aero as people tend to think he is, his CdA isn't <0.2 or anything, but he makes up for it with a 430w 10 power.
-
• #5846
430W for 10 seconds.. yeah I reckon I could just about manage that ;)
-
• #5847
Though, not a touch on froomies 500w for 20min.

My microwave would kick his microwave's arse.

Microwaves don't have arses.
