Kill a cyclist, get community punishment

What will happen to the driver of the following car who phoned the police to say he thought he had run him over after he was knocked down by the minibus driver? That was pretty careless too.
Utterly shocking decision, having sat through some of these cases I can hazard a guess that the prosecution was half hearted.

I was wondering about that as well? This was a seperate driver right? not that the minibus was made by Mercedes and the article isn't very clear?
