Progress thwarted somewhat, and feeling rather poked off too...
At the weekend I was going to get cracking on clearcoating Bobrat and reaming Gitane steerer from 22.0 to 22.2 to fit 1.125" ahead converter.
Arrived at the mancave to find that the pikey's had been in the night, shredded the front door and run off with tools (including a new lithium battery drill kit) and my skateboard. They'd had a go at the Commencal too but I think it was saved by my slothful building - bars & stem fell off when they tried to hook it out. That was a relief cos I'd brought some lovely new pedals to fit.
Well, in the end I spent the day turning my garage into fort knox rather than working on either Bob or Gitane.
I've started thinking about kit for the Gitane build, and fitted some Soyo Keirin grips to profile risers on a rather nice Syncros stem
Another highlight of the build will be the chainset.... I've had a splendid BMX ring floating around in my parts bin for a while, and picked up a 99p Deore XT RH crank on ebay to match an orphaned LH Sora crank from poodles kitchensink sale. presented all these parts to the polishing wheel today and bish-bosh-bash slave chainset...
