Anyone racing at Dartford on Sunday?
-
• #1528
It's in the cal. Not sure how I'm getting there though.
-
• #1529
4 miles from Swanley, about the same from Dartford I suppose.

Train from where? I know Andy mentioned earlier but I can't remember. Would be nice to do a roll out with some friendly faces.

I'm getting a train to Swanley, joining at Shortlands. I think it's coming from Victoria. That 4 mile ride from there to Wilmington School is pretty straightforward, if a little lumpy.

What time chaps? Will be on from Victoria.
-

11:11 from Shortlands for me, which is a Blackfriars originating train.

Crazy, 2 weeks ago he absolutely definitely wasn't going to ride it.

In a way, I'm pleased I got home in time to catch the last 20 minutes. But if I hadn't torn off my rear mech on lap two of today's London League I'd have missed it.
As you'd expect, it was a very, very muddy course today but I was enjoying it until the mech went.
Thanks Stuart for the chain tool and quick link, it was enough to get me to Swanley and the train home. I'll pick a new one up this week and drop it round.

Don't worry about it, they're cheapo imitation ones.
Punctures, crashes and wheels that just refused to go around after half a lap. Had to finish though, the field was so small that league points were guaranteed!

Bent derailleur hanger for me, not a great start to the end of the season but my first DNF, so overall, not bad. It'll teach me not to try and ride mud sections I should have been running I guess.
-
• #1542
Well done chaps for making it - sounds like a mud fest.

Just back from the worlds, what a day, beer tents full of thousands of drunken fans dancing to europop.
More mud than Glastonbury, and a stunned silence when the crowd realised Sven couldn't hold off Stybar.
Uncharitable boos from some of the partisan crowd, but applause from the majority that had witnessed an epic battle from two of the best ever.
Fantastic weekend.

Mike Sinyard probably dangled the biggest bonus of his career to stop Trek buying the WCS.

World Champs behind us, the outcome of a far more important competition has just been decided...
Final rankings for London League 13/14.

Mid-table mediocrity is mine! YES!
I really enjoyed racing, and I've got a proper license for the 2014 season. Just need to sort myself out with a sponsor now and I'm golden.

I think it's partly me and partly the depth of the field in the vets races now, but mid-table mediocrity is mine too.
For some reason, my result from the Herne Hill round in October is not included with the rest of my results so it pushes me down a bit (I scored 70 points that day). Anyway, it's a long drop from the days when I finished in the top ten of the overall vets ranking.
I'm going to sound like a Liverpool fan now, but next season I plan to do better.

Target for next year - finish 7 races!

I guess you have to be a BC affiliated club to actually race in the league representing said club?
So, for example, we couldn't race as LFGSSCX.cc could we? Otherwise known as Team NoVowels. Which kind of sounds Belgian. Hmmm. I'll shut up now.
