If you cats want to go out 2 in the morning and wouldn't stop meowing and scratching the flap, and if this is not their routine, do consider letting them out. I have just learnt a smelly lesson never to ignore my cat when she begs to go out at unusual time... Pleas let this be a one off... I have decided going to the vet is stressful for both of us.
