The only good remake IMHO I've ever seen is John Carpenter's The Thing.
The remake of The Vanishing (watch original, not super fast etc. but worth it for the bad guy and ending) missed the point, it happens so many times.
So many remakes, it seems Hollywood is running out of ideas...
...but if lovefilm has it, out of fairness may try it.
