As I read about using threaded fork as threadless many said that it wouldn't be safe as threaded part is much more fragile so If doing this would need to remove threaded part I think, but maybe somebody smart with right arguments like ed or tester will put it better or tell me I'm wrong
I'm not sure this is the way forward, really. he used a slug to reinforce the joint. that added a lot of material, but also weight. I think he only did so because it's a carbon fork. for a steel fork you can braze on a new steerer.

That looks like a nice job drøn, but unless I can think of another reason to head to Denmark, then it might not prove economic. :(
Woodrup quote £45 for a new steerer and I can't imagine a sleeved extension being cheaper, so that's likely the way I'll go.

I've got a set of forks that were extended by woodrup and they haven't snapped or anything so that's good! Not the same thing exactly but similar I guess.

Beautiful man! Do the frame have space for spiketyres?
Thanks!
Not sure for spike tyres, the wheels are 700c x 23 and on the rear, you might be able to, but the forks on the front, the clearance a super tight. I had to cut a hole in the mudguards and redrill/mod the mudguards brake attachment.

Thinking about placing an order on a 16h Mack hub to lace to the Cosmic Pro rear but haven't got a response back how long it would take. Anyone know the waiting time?

I need some caged bearings for a 1" Campagnolo Nuovo Record threaded headset..
will these do the trick (in 5/32")?

Not much changed but this bike just keeps on giving even after 1100 miles.

what saddle is it, amey?

Currently working on an old Raleigh single speed project. It's been many years since I have taken a frame back to metal.
Removing old paint and years of rust is certainly a time consuming affair.Have used the usual paint stripper, wire wool and now on the 2nd wire brush. Finally turned that all important corner having just started priming the frame and forks.
The plan is for a single speed cruiser type bike using as much of the original parts as possible.
To be continued......... -

Don't forget to give it a good clean before you sell it Amey.

Kurve snake

fuck me. £170. no thanks.
-
• #87864
RRP? Even I didnt know that :P
I didnt pay that.
Same principle as Brooks C17 but without the aesthetic or weight.
-
• #87865
If it's the most comfortable saddle you've ever ridden on, £170 isn't much to ask.
-
• #87866
It is THE most comfortable saddle I've ever owned; I've been through a lot to arrive on Arione and then they released this; same shape but with flex; lot of flex.
I have another on my commuter too.

Basically a modern alternative to the leather saddle.
My only nag is figuring out whether to go for the Brooks C17 or the Fizik for the NFE.
-
• #87868
Fizik does test kurve saddles if you want to 'try before buy' (i think so does brooks)
ebay is filled with them
-
• #87869
You can try before buy with any shop, as long you check the return policy.
I rarely have more than £200 in my bank account thought.

Turning my 'spare' tourer into a 1 x 9.
Just swapped the cranks over and realised that it's got a 1 1/8" chainring.
Now trying to track down an eno 3/32" chainring. They're hard to find. Pleased with the chainline though, was worried the un54 bb might be a little long but it's more or less perfect.
Waiting on deore levers, v brakes, shifter pod and some odi grips to arrive in the post. Got some nice old club roost bars as well. Working out if I should get a front rack or not. -

Try Sideways Cycles - think they're the UK distributor, should probably be able to order one for you
-
• #87872
And Charlie too, up to £40 for the biggest one (48t).
-
• #87873
Cheers andy and ed.
I can't tell if the Charlie rings are 3/32" or not.
I'll drop them and sideways an email and see who can get one over the quickest. -
• #87874
Just been looking and even the WI website doesn't say if the eno rings are 1/8" or 3/32"
-
• #87875
They do come in 3/32 as I brought one a while ago to run as a 1x** groupset.
